Raymond Rios Benitez Sr. a lifelong Stockton resident passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017 in Stockton, CA at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife Rose Marie Benitez of 58 years, 4 children Rita Benitez, Dr. Raymond R. Benitez Jr (DeAnna), Rosemarie Ruggieri (Joncarlo), Mario Benitez (Helen), 3 granddaughters Clara Benitez, Victoria and Genevieve Ruggieri, 2 step grandchildren Jasmine, and Anthony, 1 sister Genevieve Sanchez, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Raymond Rios Benitez Sr. a lifelong Stockton resident passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017 in Stockton, CA at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife Rose Marie Benitez of 58 years, 4 children Rita Benitez, Dr. Raymond R. Benitez Jr (DeAnna), Rosemarie Ruggieri (Joncarlo), Mario Benitez (Helen), 3 granddaughters Clara Benitez, Victoria and Genevieve Ruggieri, 2 step grandchildren Jasmine, and Anthony, 1 sister Genevieve Sanchez, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his 5 siblings Theodora, Max, Frank, Camelia, and Grace. Raymond was born on August 31, 1931 to the late Maximino and Genevieve Benitez. He was drafted in the Army while working at Fiberboard products and served as a Korean vet. After serving in the Army he went back to Fiberboard for 36 years before retiring.



Raymond was always proud of his children and loved his grandchildren very much. He was an avid gardener who always had a beautiful yard. He was proud to be a 20 gallon blood donor. Raymond loved to read, listen to music and anyone who met Raymond became a lifelong friend. He will missed by all those who he touched and made an impact during his life.



DeYoung Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Benitez family. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 11-1 pm followed by a Chapel service at 1pm at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St. Stockton. Committal will be at Stockton Rural Cemetery.
